William Morris (1834–96), designer, artist and writer, was one of the 19th century’s most famous names and the central figure in the British Arts and Crafts Movement. Morris drew on nature for inspiration, incorporating natural forms into furnishings and decorations. This beautiful rug by Luxmi Rugs features a detail from Honeysuckle, one of Morris’s furnishing fabric designs from the 1870s. The original design is a rambling arrangement of poppies, tulips and honeysuckle. Made in India by artisan craftsmen, this rich wool and silky viscose rug is skilfully hand-tufted and finished by hand. The dense 8mm pile brings warmth to the touch and the beauty of nature into the home.
